All of this is lies. Or is it? Yes.

The backstory:

October 2022 Leisure Recordings opens its ground-breaking funk biosphere, The Leisure Centre, at the north pole. Acting as a gateway to the newly discovered hollow Inner Earth, the installation is a model in environmentally sound engineering comprising a tropical jungle-come-disco, heated lakes and mountains with excellent skiing. Revellers get down in the tropical surroundings while solar powered machinery above turns their sweat into ozone released directly into the atmosphere, while under floor dynamos absorb groove energy to power the semi-organic sound system. The harder you work the floor, the louder it gets, and the more oxygen is generated.

June 2012 Leisure co-founder Jon Kennard weds his seventh wife in as many years ? The Countessa Isabella of Liechtenstein ? and so ties the Leisure brand to one of the great European Royal Houses.

March 2010 Allstar Rory Kinsella graciously turns down an MBE in protest at Prime Minister Brown?s continuing War On Terror, and in particular the recent bloody invasion of France, the latest hot spot on the Axis of Evil.

December 2009 Through a combination of hypnosis and old-fashioned peer pressure, Plan B succeeds in training a tiny ape to win the World DMC?s, the first non-human winner of the prestigious competition.

November 2008 Mr Benn inaugurated into the hip-hop Hall of Fame for outstanding services to the dancefloor.

August 2007 After 2 years of frantic advances in space technology, spurred on by Bush?s WOT expanding into space, DJ Hoop becomes the first man to DJ on the moon for the opening party of the new UN moon base. Needless to say, his set was out of this world.

September 2006, the Leisure Allstars critically acclaimed and massive selling debut album, Girls Girls Girls, is pipped to the Mercury Prize by Coldplay?s unexpected LSD-fuelled turnaround album, These Drugs are Really Good.

August 2005 The Leisure Allstars release Get Your Hands in the Air on 7? to universal acclaim. Well, their parents said they thought it was pretty good, although not exactly their cup of tea.

July 2005 Heducation?s DJ STX ropes in Probe Mantis from Bristol?s Aspects to host the regular shindig at Arc Bar.

July 2005 James L marries his long-term girlfriend Alina to the delight of the assembled and extended Leisure crew. Suitably terrible records were played at the reception by the Allstars.

June 2005 The June Arc party is postponed due to the Allstars being in no fit state for anything after watching Dr Jon manipulate the platters that matter at the world famous Glastonbury Festival.

May 2005 Tru Thought?s Diesler graces the Wheels of Steel at Bristol?s Arc Bar for the monthly Leisure throwdown. Shapes are thrown without regard for the safety of self or others.

April 2005 The Allstars front up with The Unabombers and Eclectic Method for Blowback Magazine?s inaugural FYI event at Cargo in London?s fashionable East End. Lots of party juice is consumed by all even though it?s a school night.

March 2005 The Allstars play records sequentially at Bristol?s Level nightclub establishment on the same bill as fellow Bristolians Daddy G (Massive Attack) and Boca45 (Grand Central). There are reports of whooping, and also hollering.

March 2005 The Allstars climb into the belly of a metal snake to our nations capital understanding that they would be entitled to some of the gold used to pave the streets there. Unable to find the said streets, they jockey disks for the beautiful people at a swanky bash for MTV style. Champagne is guzzled, models fall over and semi-famous peeps are oggled. The provincial kids done good.

February 2005 Mr Benn?s Take It Back picks up hot reactions from the likes of The Unabombers, and to the astonishment of scared shoppers everywhere literally flies off the shelves.

NYE 2004 Plan B and Dr Jon rinse it out to see in the New Year ?longside Geoff Barrow (Portishead), Boca 45 and Rainy But Funky at Bristol?s Metropol ?club?. A disgraceful, lawless party whereby all surfaces are covered in sweat and bevvy, girls dance on tables and boys dance on their backs on the floor. The system blows up and it?s all over.

November 2004 DJ Hoop?s rework of Method Man?s Uh Huh is included on The Nextmen?s Not The Nextmen mix CD.

October 2004 After a grueling two week tour of Europe ending in carnage at the Munich Oktoberfest, the Allstars jet back to Bristol hook up with the legendary Jazzy Jeff at the Level establishment.

October 2004 Plan B, Dr Jon and Rory Kinsella get asymmetrical haircuts and head to Shoreditch?s Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes to celebration Blowback Magazine?s first birthday with Blackgrass and The Outlaws. Mmm?White Russians and partying ?til stupid o?clock at Mother Bar.

June 2004 DJ Hoop drops Uh Huh as the debut release on the fledgling Leisure Recordings imprint. Quantic gives it 10/10, Joe Ransom rinses it at FabricLive and everyone from The Stereo MC?s to Blackbeard to The World Famous Beat Junkies gets on the fun wagon.

July 2003 Leisure Recordings is born out of the ashes of The T-Fonk Federation in a Bristol boozer. Grand plans are hatched and Stellas consumed (as usual) to mark the occasion. Monthly session Leisure takes is rightful place as a regular Friday at Bristol?s Arc Bar, recognising the success of one off parties such as the ever-popular annual Christmas Rock The Bells party. The regular supply of booty bass, latino hot-steppers, massive hip-hop beats, blazing breaks, rolling D?n?B, rare groove and dirty funk is assured and music connoisseurs everywhere can sleep easy knowing The Allstars have everything in hand.

September 1993 The Artists Latterly Known As The Leisure Allstars discover the mysteries of dance music over an appropriately mind-expanding evening of appreciation of Future Sound of London?s Expander EP. Some of the group throw themselves down the stairs it?s that good.

June 1993 James L and Rory Kinsella show off their undercuts and Pantera shorts at the MK Bowl watching Metallica and Megadeth while James?s dad waits in the car. Rock. And. Roll.

September 1989 (yes in the 80s) The Allstars meet aged 11 at school in Bristol. Musical knowledge was exchanged interspersed with games of Murderball, throwing plastic lobsters at teachers, remixing Sabres Of Paradise for assemblies and other crap.

October 1977 The Allstars are delivered by storks to a giant public house in the sky, from where they fester in dark basements for many weeks, teaching themselves to be lazy, before escaping back to their real families.
